It is one of the most famous water townships in China, noted for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses, the elegant watery views and the strong local colored traditions and customs. Zhouzhuang has been called the "Venice of the East".
visit the famous site Shen¡¯s Hall, which was built in 1742 by the richest
man in this water town. And then visit Zhang¡¯s Hall and Double Bridge in Zhouzhuang. Chenyifei created a picture of this double bridge, which was used on a first day cover issued by UN. Thus the town was brought to the world.
